Now we’ll be forever holding hands
Today.
We got up.
Checked in with the kids.
Breakfasted. Sunbathed. Read. Drunk some slushes (me not him)
Lunched. Showered.
Wandered to the Baihi Princess where we were meeting Isabelle who was taking us to Tiede for some stargazing.
We left at three. Drove through mountains - four tropical zones. Laughed at prickly pears. Drunk aberico in an alpine like lodge. Had pee pee time
And holding hand time
Drove higher. Into the volcano.
Wandered about and noticed how short our breath was.... held hands and kissed when we were told
Drove even higher and stopped in front of Tiede’s little sister Pico Viego where magma had exploded out of the side and drank champagne from proper glasses while we watched the sunset - and also smooched
After forty five minutes of champagne and mulled wine we were then off to Papillon. The highest restaurant in Tenerife - where along with our bus companions. We partook in a three course meal with wine and beer!
Then It was back in the bus and off to a remote part of the park where we decamped and stood for ten minutes to acclimatise ourselves to the dark and then she got her lazy beam out and pointed out the constellations!
I saw the Milky Way; I saw shooting stars. I renamed a star Brian.
We laughed.
And after an hour - when our feet were
Cold and we had looked at Cygnus, Cassiopeia, sirius, orien, Betelgeuse, Perseus, the winter square, the autumn triangle, the great bear the little bear and great dog, the little dog, Gemini, Taurus and so many more
We all piled back on the bus, tired and sleepy and happy
