Chip chip chip chip chipmunk
There is a four kilometre walk between our hotel and the nearest town.
It’s a strange walk - either over a lunar Like landscape - orange soil and lumps of
Volcanic rock; or a beach path which is six kilometres because it winds in and out along the waters edge.
First day we walked the path. And came across, as everyone had promised us, the chipmunks. The beach rock front is awash with them.
Today we walked the lunar landscape - had a bimble round the shops and walked back along the rocks complete with our left over almonds from the graze bag
They are incredibly responsive to the rattle
Of paper. We attracted them the first day by rattling a tissue packet. Today we were quite excited to actually have something to give them
Horror of horrors tho. As we fed one, Si spotted a rat peeking out from the rocks too- and it scampered away when it realised its cover was blown.
Then it was back to the hotel - tooli and I were so tired we slept for nearly two hours. But my god we made up for it when we woke up.
Laughed ourselves hoarse at the karaoke in the bar and then took ourselves over to the Irish bar across the road run by a German and a English man. Nothing Irish about it apart from the shamrock picture and the Guinness.
We squealed a great deal in there too and drunk to much. Hence I do the blip tomorrow with a bit of an achy head
