Breakey Blips

Waiting

As is our want, all for of us trekked into Melbourne, ostensibly to see the Myers Department store Christmas windows, but mainly to soak up some of the Christmas buzz.
The windows were a disappointment, but what a challenge .... reduce the story of Alice in Wonderland into 5 windows of beautiful automatons. We all agreed that if you had no knowledge of the book, you would have been very confused by the end!

Anyhow, fighting through the crowds inside the store was an unpleasant experience but chilling out / fooling about on the Chrstmas floor was rather fun. We didn't buy a thing, but skipped out to a delicious vegetarian indan dosa cafe.
I need to thank Clicking Curate for that recommendation.

We walked past a rather posh coffee stall on the edge of David Jones, and we chilled out in their air con whilst i got a reviving coffee. And a hand powered coffee grinder present to share with my eldest. Joys!

Then on to Federation Square, where again we elected not to queue for 40 or so mins to view a Japanese gingerbread village, but people watched and tried or free computer games next to the huge musical neon Christmas tree (extra).

Totally random and great family bonding time.
