a pie
using up the Christmas left overs
my version of a Jerusalem Pie:
the pickings from the yuletide bird (in our case, chicken)
1 chopped onion
a celery stalk, finely chopped
some sliced chestnut mushrooms
home made stock
a dusting of flour to thicken
a handful of chopped parsley
the zest of one orange
a scant half of a freshly grated nutmeg
cinnamon to taste
s&p
a dribble of cream
topped with puff pastry, glazed with beaten egg
the extra is a post christmas botanical. my intended blip, but the pie looked more cosy.
the pie is cooked and about to be devoured!
