Diary of an Edinburgher

More fizz

Bike.

Another day of not doing much. I'm quite good at sitting around, though. The morning just goes, with cycling, setting the fire, a quick hoover, a bit of ironing (unusual), breakfast and coffee while watching the BBC News Channel. I do miss the regular TV programming.

Annemique took Archie out for the day. He was so happy to see her, and I hadn’t even told him she was coming - he knows to go and watch at the window when I get the poo bags and treats ready.

After the sun was over the yardarm we wandered over to the neighbour's flat for drinkies and nibbles. Archie was not invited and we would have left him here, but Elizabeth got wind of it and insisted he wasn’t left on his own, he should come up to sit with her and her dad. I opened the main door and he galloped up the stairs to her first floor flat. Spoilt boy.

Hazel had admired our new Christmas decorations when she visited last week, and bought the same to replace her Christmas tree. Here we are admiring her one. She's added more greenery and red berries to go with her red rugs. Gorgeous.

We had a lovely evening - delicious nibbles and fizz. Lots of chat about holidays, home decor and the pros and cons of teaching as a profession as opposed to, say, career prospects (and perks) with a top retail company. The jury's out, but if I had my time again I doubt I’d've chosen teaching...
