A day in the countryside

We went for a leisurely bike ride through the beautiful countryside today. We stopped for lunch at a village house where we had the most delicious array of dishes, and in true famous five style, lashings of ginger beer! After a short walk around the nearby temple, we settled by the hotel pool with others in the group for a very relaxing afternoon. The picture was our view over the reservoir, where we saw all sorts of birds, only some we could name (pelicans, ibis, cormorants, fish eagle, bee eater...), plus monkeys, water buffalo, a monitor (big lizard), evidence of elephants, and kingfishers on the bike ride. Another great day.
