Nordic tree

The sun was streaming through our window this morning - perfect for New Year's Day, long may it continue.  A relaxing day, writing thank you letters, one to our friends in Eastern Norway.  I once worked for them many decades ago as a holiday job on their farm in the forest and we have been firm friends every since and exchange small Christmas gifts every year.  As you can see our tree is decorated with Norwegian objects and this year a beautiful transparent glass and glistening tree arrived in the post.  

Tim and Kathy had a lively party last night but now all their friends have gone home to different parts of the south and south-west.  They were very tired!
