The Big Bath
A beautiful life-affirming sunny day. Audrey was back to her old smiley self and all my feelings of maternal love came gushing back in an instant!
It was too nice (albeit cold) to stay indoors so we after a morning of experimenting with cottage pie (Audrey was ambivalent) and jumping in the jumperoo (not simultaneously - meal times are messy enough), we headed to West Didsbury for a hamburger (fatty Mum not Audrey) via Chorlton Water Park (pictured). Everyone we met on the way was happy and smiley too - the sunshine really does bring out the best in Chorltonians.
Home via the swings in the park for banana and cereal before The Big Bath trial. Audrey loved it but I was terrified she was going to drown. At one point she did swallow some soapy water and I nearly leapt in there to scoop her out. She was fine however.
She's just gone out like a light -smelling of fresh towels and lavender. I defy anything to smell better than a freshly bathed baby. I could cuddle her and smell her hair forever. I bet that's the thing Mums miss when their babies get older, it really is like a drug. It could make me do something stupid if I wasn't careful.....like have another child.....
