Just look straight at the camera please

A lovely day and I was out in the garden taking photos of the birds , the little ones, when this herring gull stopped down and landed on the fence.It was after some apple I had put out for the blackbirds.Luckily he looked straight at the camera for this shot :)
The Christmas decorations are slowly being packed away, the tree will stay for a while yet.

Had a chat with my Auntie Jean this evening. She was telling me that her smoke alarm had gone wrong a few weeks ago and as it was fitted by the Fire brigade you have to phone them if it starts bleeping.So my Auntie Jean phoned and was asked if she could get up on a chair with a Hoover to try and clean it, she’s in her 80’s so not possible.An appointment was made and three fire fighters turned up a few days later in an engine. One stayed outside, one held the ladder whilst the other climbed it and fixed the problem :)
