Shadowy Tree

I liked the shadow of the tree on the wall.

Lupton House, near Brixham, and the former home of Lord Churston. The shadow on the wall is that of a Lucombe Oak. William Lucombe was a nurseryman, who gave his name to the Lucombe Oak (Quercus x hispanica 'Lucombeana'). He bred it at his nursery in St Thomas, Exeter which he founded in 1720.

A lovely walk today on a crisp blue sky day. We set off from Churston along the green lane to Greenway and returned via the grounds of Lupton House. After tea and cake at the Rowcroft Hospice Charity Shop, Churston we walked back to Paignton and home, about 11 miles
