New Year's Day - View from Allermuir.

Very nice to wake up quite late on New Year's Day. My partner and I have a quiet morning.

After lunch we go for a walk up to the Pentland Hills. We walk through Swanston village, then follow the path up to Allermuir Hill. The wind from yesterday has died down a little, but it feels cold. The blip is taken near the top, looking NNE. The sun is shining on the Braid Hills and Buckstone, see previous blip on the 30th December, or here, The Braid Hills are about 207m above sea level. The NYD blip is taken from about 400m above sea level, about twice as high. The Braids don't look very high, neither does Arthur's Seat

We walk home, and get home just as it gets dark. A nice cup of coffee and chocolate for afternoon refreshment.
