Monte Calvario
It is the result of the initiative of Mr. Pedro Redolatti and Monsignor Fortunato Devoto who had the idea, it was inaugurated on January 10, 1943. It is named in that way because of its resemblance to the Golgotha of Judea.

In 1940 Mrs. Elisa Alvear de Bosch, president of the San José Society of Buenos Aires, enthusiastically adopted the idea. The donation of the hill was obtained and Ing. Alejandro Bustillo projected the work free of charge. The Municipality of Tandil ceded the land to extend Av. Spain and the Nocetti Campos family did the same with a neighboring hill. In 1942 the first stage was completed and the olive trees that adorn the avenue begin to be planted. Mons de Andrea.

With the wood of a larch donated by the director of parks, Alejandro Bustillo, the first wooden cross was constructed whose dimensions were 17 meters high by 8 wide.

Subsequently deteriorated by the passage of time is replaced by another cement.

Mrs. Ernestina L. de Acosta donated the Christ made in stone in France of 22 meters in length and Mrs. Alvear did the same with the Holy Sepulcher that serves as a crown for Michelangelo's Pieta.
