A Wee bit of planting

Sadly we had to have a large Hawthorn tree removed from our garden at the beginning of the week-this was for a number of reasons but basically the tree was just getting too big for a small garden.
We were left with a big space in the garden, and a sad feeling in our hearts. So this morning I have done a bit of replanting and moving around, and the garden is looking better all ready.  I have as usual been helped by Smithy the gardener cat!  We are only having a tree in a pot this time so we can keep things under control.  I think this is Abies koreana or similar, its in a beautiful ceramic pot given to us many years ago by a dear friend who was a technician in Stoke-on-Trent in the ceramics department of the college there.
