The Ladstone Rock, Norland Moor

MONDAY

The best thing about working from home at this time of the year is having a long lunch break and getting out onto the moor in daylight.

Instead of running around the edge of the moor, I went over the top passing The Ladstone Rock (pictured).  As local legend has it, the Rock has been used as a sacrificial point and it's also rumoured that local witches were thrown off the rock in the middle ages.

The name llad is of Celtic origin and means "kill", or "cut". So The Ladstone is a kill stone.

I ran as far as Gallow's Pole Hill and then back home. Almost 11 km.

13,900 steps so far.

Many thanks for all the stars and hearts on yesterday's steam loco.
