1400 Years Ago

Following on somewhat from yesterdays blip about what the Scots were creating 5000 years ago, here's what they were making 1400 years ago. Mohammed had just died and the Roman Empire in Western Europe had virtually ceased to exist.
This Pictish stone is known locally as the Brandsbutt Stone and has various carved symbols plus the rather intriguing Ogham inscription "IRATADDOARENS"
The North East has had a few blizzards this last week followed by low temperatures and the site was covered in frozen snow this afternoon with an air temperature of about -1C. Somewhat oddly, the ground around the monolith was completely free of snow.
