Back at the beach!

We had a beautiful day at the beach today! After a nice sleep in this morning, we awoke to the sight of white pelicans and egrets on the lagoon edging our rental property. Then after breakfast we took the car for a slow, bird watching, drive on New Smyrna Beach (great for hubby and his sister who both have trouble ambulating). We stopped at the jetty at the end and spent some time watching the snowy egrets, some of which are in nuptial plummage, as seen above. Finally, we parked the car and had a leisurely stroll on the boardwalk built over the dunes (which is where we saw the loggerhead shrike shown in the extras).
