I.O.U.

My first thought was that it was a potato, wrapped by Ewan for my birthday in revenge for the potato that I wrapped for him last year. That would at least have vindicated my prediction that he'd forget all the other presents but not the potato. He's not forgotten the potato but it wasn't a potato. Mandy'd wrapped an apple and said it was an IOU. What could she possibly mean?
