Life through the lens...

Distant views

A very clear blue sky, and sunny morning.
This photo was taken from our lounge window, showing the Emley Moor telecommunication and broadcasting mast, which is 14 miles away, on top of the Pennines.
We can only see it in Winter when the leaves have fallen.( The zoom lens did help!)

Still no snow, but the lane was like a glass bottle this morning, and it never melted. No gritter comes down here! Certainly had to go very steady with the car.

Friday, and so the usual shopping day.
Jackie, at the farm shop, was feeling a bit despondent today. She is always so full of fun, and happy! They have lost such a lot of their vegetables this year. The worst year she can ever remember.
Sprouts, potatoes, and early caulifowers all ploughed back in.
They were warning people on the news tonight that vegetables would be much more expensive this Christmas.(Is that the only time we eat veg.?) It will be more expensive for the rest of the winter, as farmers all over the country have lost such a lot due to the wet weather. I hope things are better for them next year.

The weekend is here again!
Enjoy your Christmas shopping, if you are off into town!
Have fun!
