The Sage
The new literature class had 12 students, which is great - we were in danger of folding as we were short of numbers to make it viable. The subject is espionage and spies. We started with The Scarlet Pimpernel which is really badly written but had been a great success in its time. We continue with it next week and in the meantime have to research the author and also get to grips with Somerset Maugham.
Chris and I had a cheap Lebanese meal in Byker then headed for the Sage, Gateshead. I treated her to a concert, Northern Sinfonia conducted by a young Australian woman. The reason I chose this concert was because the Young Musician of the year finalist Jess Gillam was playing her sax, and Chris is learning to play that instrument. Jess was a treat.
We got home at 11 just as the snow started.
