MIsplacement
It has nothing to do with my accident, I've been misplacing and losing things my entire life. The most recent are bluetooth-around-the-neck headbands. I bought one in 2004. I liked it so much that when I lost it I bought an identical one. When I found it I discovered it was really convenient to have one at home and one at work for noise cancellation. Then I lost one and bought a replacement and then found it, but by then they were so old that it was really cheap to buy it.
As of Thursday I'd lost two and one was held together with tape, so I upgraded to new ones. Today was my first day with them. I inaugurated them with the song I think of when I think of mambo. They are the loveliest, most effective noise cancelling headphones I could wish for. With noise cancellation on I can barely hear people, with light music I cannot hear them. The sound was glorious. They aren't good for actual phone calls so this morning I bought another pair for home/transit to use as headphones primarily with noise cancellation unnecessary. As soon as I placed the order I found one of the missing ones.
I've come to accept this sort of thing with more equanimity.
