Café gourmand
Very tasty lunch out with Caroline today - and two nights out organised as a result! This is pudding(s) enjoyed after a very warming meal. Brief embarrassment at the start when the restaurant owner presumed that my pal was British too and proceeded to explain the menu slowly, in very small words (C is from Paris so quickly brought him up to speed!)
At the end we praised him on the speediness of lunch, and he explained that he understands very well that these days (big sigh) some workplaces only allow an hour and forty five minutes... (To be honest, I hadn’t realised we’d been there so long; there was a lot of catching up to get through!)
Otherwise, work. Dinner conversation was: what to do in Paris, Log tables, how to pronounce sine and cosine (English and French), British Classic horse races and, obviously, chick pea peeling.
