Hats are needed today very hot again
We spent the day as tourists today, going inland to Ballarat and sovereign Hill. Sovereign Hill is a re-creation of a town in Victoria in the eighteen fifties to sixties, mining and gold panning being the reason for the towns existence. there are still mines to go down and a chance to go gold panning in the stream. The most impressive thing however I found was the shops that was staffed with people in period costume. The shops actually sold the goods on display unfortunately at today’s prices rather than those of the period they were showing. What could’ve been extremely tacky was in fact very interesting and it was all done very tastefully
