Woodbury Castle - A place I love

A cold sunny start to the day and we headed out to the Hill Fort on Woodbury Common, one of the many places I love in Devon.  There were still patches of frost around and even a few sheets of ice on the small pond we passed.  A slightly surreal walk as it must be a commando training day for the marines, we encountered individuals with rifles wandering around then a large group of them striding up a hill most of them carrying a colleague over their shoulder and another troop heading out along another track.
