And the one of these won.
The "B's" had a problem with some really heavy outside furniture that came with their Wanaka Apartment and was impossible to get down the stairs so this was the answer.
The Bloke that operated this Palfinger thingie was very psychological about it all and stated that as you got older "The Toys" became more expensive but also more fun,  as he maneuvered  the business end into The "B's" balcony to retrieve the load. Extra.  
It was all done on a wonderful remote thingie which he had around his waist.
I barked a bit but my heart was just not in it...This was really interesting.
