Rotten apples

We awoke to snow falling outside our bedroom window. It had thawed by lunchtime, but looked lovely for a few short hours.  The house is beautifully warm with its newly installed central heating and, although we still don't have a functioning kitchen, we are managing to cook good meals on a one ring camping stove!  There are still some of last year's apples hanging precariously from their trees.
