Deep Freeze

A famous saying in Chicago during the beautiful summer weekends is “this is why we endure the winters”. With -14f this morning, I’d say that brings this statement to be questioned. The kids are tucked deep into their covers, the dog is hiding from his morning walk and yet there is a beauty to these mornings. A quite stillness as nothing is moving. This photo reminds me that this tree will bloom again, the golf course under this snow will be open again and those long summer nights are not so far off on the horizon. This deep freeze will thaw...patience.
