Diary of an Edinburgher

Cold!

Bike.

A very cold day - that wind was straight from the North Pole! So although we thought Becky was out of town this weekend, we were even more delighted than Archie when she appeared at the door! She was not out of town this weekend.

JR, after a wee lie in and breakfast in bed, went to the gym, then went off shopping for a few things eg an electric kettle for the builders, which will reside in the hall, sort of out of the kitchen dust, just in the hall dust.

In the afternoon I decided to take Archie for a wander, but a toggle on my duffle broke off, so I couldn’t close it. Not good in this wind, so we came back sharpish. Archie didn’t mind, as he'd had a good run around after the frisbee with Becky. I was just in time to catch the (replay) of the men's tennis final, although it was pretty one sided. Unlike the women’s final, which was much better.

The kitchen dresser left us tonight - friends round the corner took it away, one bit at a time. I imagine it took them quite a while walking it round to their flat - it was Very Heavy.

It's been nice to have a weekend free of renovations, but I suspect we'll appreciate next weekend even more, as we only had one day of disruption. Many more to come!

Archie is intrigued by the table in the lounge...

EDIT: Our builder has just emailed to let us know that he won’t be here tomorrow as he needs to buy stuff that he didn’t have time for on Saturday. No 7.30am rise! Yay!
