On a thoroughly blowy day, I took a wander to Damhouse, as recommended by a neighbour last week. It's only 2 miles from home, but I'd never heard of it before. It dates back to 1650 and was established by Adam Mort. Now hone to a tea room, a beauty parlour and various local businesses, it's still at the heart of the local community and supported by volunteers. My nose was too cold to linger too long, but I liked the colours. Bonus point today for actually being able to give accurate directions when someone stopped me. I also picked up a bird feeder at a random gift and general stuff emporium, where I also spotted an apt picture for my purple loving friends.
