Another Approach

Dear Diary,

Gaylord has long given up on the birdfeeder I am happy to say but he has continued to pay an occasional visit to my two sided suet feeder.  Here he is showing off his rather magnificent tail in the morning sunlight.  He provides a nice contrast to the little nuthatch's dainty approach yesterday.  He's like a bull in a china shop but he gets the job done and that is all that matters.  

Unfortunately, the "hot tub" seems to be an ice tub this morning.  Rock solid as it is only 5F.  That didn't last very long!  When I told Rudy he was horrified! (See extra)  I reassured him that I will go back to the old method today, not to worry.  I will be adding hot water all day so the little ones have fresh water to drink.  An animal restaurant owner's work is never done!
