Hazel catkins

The sun has been catching these hazel catkins in the afternoon for a few weeks now and I each time I see them I think “I really must blip that”. Well, today I put thought into action and braved the icy temperatures outside!

This is very apposite as I’ve just been chatting on the ‘phone to my chum Hazel, who I have known for nearly fifty years now! We went through school, church (girl guides) and uni together, although we weren’t in the same year. We eventually settled at opposite ends of N Ireland but have kept in touch over the decades. This Saturday we have a lunch date with other school/uni pals that I’m really looking forward to. A number of us turn 60 this year (or did so in the Autumn term last year) so we have plenty of excuses for get-togethers!

It’s a lovely bright day today, but freezing. I think I’ll persevere with some ironing so I can feel I’ve done something productive....
