Crimplene
Not a fabric you hear of nowadays!
Back in the 1950's this was Thee new wonder fabric, developed by ICI.
Their laboratory was on the outskirts of Harrogate, in the Crimple Valley, which is where we walked today. You can just see the little Crimple beck on the right of the photo, and this is where the name came from.
A fact I didn't know until today!
We haven't been out with the walking group for a while, and it was nice to meet up with them again today. Lots to catch up on!
What a glorious day too! Clear blue sky and sun all day! Although only 8c it was perfect for walking.
The only disappointment was that when we arrived at Plumpton Rocks the gardens were closed.( Only open March to October.)
I had really been looking forward to seeing the lake, and all the fantastic gritstone rock formations. Never mind that will be a walk for next year.
Many thanks for all your lovely comments, hearts and stars for my little bank vole, yesterday! I think my most hearts ever for a blip! He would be pleased!
(I wonder if I will ever see him again?
