Brrracing!
Away from the village today so no 'One Street' shots.
My sister-in-law lives in Northumberland so we arranged to meet up for lunch today at Saltburn by the sea which is in Teesside and about halfway for both of us.
We had a nice Sunday lunch and chat and then set out for a walk along the cliff top and then down to the promenade. The famous cliff lift down to the pier (water balanced and the oldest of it's type still in operation) was closed so we had a very bracing walk above the beach and down the steps ending up on the pier which you can see here.
The sky was blue when we arrived but the cloud was building up after lunch but in large you can just see the sun lighting up the cliff top.
The lighter streaks on the beach are actually sand blowing. You can get some idea of the wind in this shot taken at the top of the lift. Breezy Saltburn Up here too there was some bunting and knitted decorations from the celebration of the Queens Diamond Jubilee - surely the Last Remnants of the Jubilee!
Lovely to see friends and a chance to exchange Christmas gifts and greetings.
We then drove home into the sunset!
