Canterbury Cathedral
Have spent a lovely relaxing day with #2 son and his girlfriend here in Rochester. A late rise followed by a walk along the Medway and then a splendid breakfast of poached eggs and smoked haddock was the perfect start to the day.
We then drove down to Canterbury to explore another beautiful Kent town. I have to admit there was a wonderful Christmas atmosphere in the shops and restaurants that occupied the narrow olde worlde streets. When in Rome do as the Romans do, so we headed to The Parrot pub where we had a late Sunday lunch, which had to include traditional roast beef and Yorkshire pudding washed down with some real ale!
We didn't have much time left explore the wonderful looking cathedral, and certainly not enough to justify the £40 it would have cost the four of us to have a look round!
Apologies for the lack of commenting over the last few days when most of our time has been spent travelling or catching up with family. We head north tomorrow to visit friends in Corbridge before travelling to Glasgow the following day. It may be Thursday before normal service is resumed!
