Showmen’s Guild Memorial
Ice everywhere but the marvellous sunlight was too good to miss. I headed off to The National Memorial Arboretum. My thinking was - stunning setting, main roads to get there, lots of flat paths probably cared for.
I got there early and had this magical place to myself (apart from the gardeners and volunteers who were keeping the grounds in tip top shape.
I found memorials I didn’t know before, including The Showmen’s Guild Memorial, with plaques to commemorate individuals, some killed in the Blitz, some in military service.
I lingered at The Shot at Dawn Memorial... on the furthest Eastern point of the site, to catch the first rays of the dawn. (Extra)
It was worth getting that chilly tingling feeling - and my new trainer/boots were lovely and comfy.
Stay safe and warm, my friends.....
