Was nostalgia all the way on reccy to Wakefield for a future Bus Pass Walkers Cultural Outing

The bus route took in Heckmondwike and Cleckheaton - known to us as Hecky and Clecky - did our courting there some 40yrs ago- went past both our old schools - the church in which we were married - streets we lived on - memories aplenty kicked in when the bus passed this sign for Batley - home of the Variety Club - which staged big name acts - including Shirley Bassey and Roy Orbison - with free tickets

Given time - sure the BPW’s will look back on our forthcoming trip to Wakefield with a different kind of nostalgia
