The Palm Court, Arora Hotel

Ended the day with a surprisingly good meal in the Grill at the Arora Hotel near Gatwick. An early start tomorrow, catching the hotel shuttle at 5.45am ready for a 7.45 flight to Venice and then on to Pedraces near Corvara in the Italian Dolomites.

Got away at around 3.45pm after a busy day. Walking and talking with Barbara and David after breakfast, then lunch with them and Doreen. Saw them off mid afternoon giving us time to complete the final few jobs before leaving.

Watched the Ireland v England rugby international at the hotel. The result surprised me as I didn’t think England stood a chance against Ireland. Then, what do I know, I didn’t think Wales had much of a chance against the French in Paris. Mind you, at half time nobody could have predicted a Welsh win. A comfortable win for Scotland against Italy rounded off the first round of the 6 Nations.
