About powerful women: the last two films I have seen- The Favourite and Colette- were about women who were born with little power but gained it.
Mary Queen of Scots  tells the story of two women, Mary and Elizabeth Queen of England, born into power but lost it to the scheming of men.
 
Incidentally Mary was born in Linlithgow palace and her son in Edinburgh Castle. There is a special showing later this month of the film up at Stirling castle where her son , James V1 was christened.
Not surprisingly tickets sold out within days.
