Went to the airport to meet one of my colleagues this morning... an early start .. the airport is about an hour away.... great to see the rising sun over the backwaters but I was so sleepy that I just let the driver drive on .. another day!!

I had forgotten my passport so although I had the equivalent of a platform ticket I was not allowed in .. the bonus was watching the people waiting outside.. this little girl especially... the children are so unanimously beautiful and this little girl was dressed up presumably to greet family arriving from Dubai. There are thousands and thousands of Keralans who work in Dubai who travel to and fro each week..

One thing I find interesting is that there are no pushchairs, prams or toys with the children.. they are all carried if indeed they need to be and all expect to entertain themselves and do! And here is vodkaman's blip on the same topic

I have just been reading earthdreamers
comments on taking peoples photos and there was no way I could take photos anonymously there.. for one I was the only single white woman in the crowd and that draws a lot of attention. However mostly the Indians love to have the pictures taken .. but it would be good to get more anonymous ones...

It is the first time in India for my friend.. and her reaction in the car driving to her hotel was very entertaining (for me!) .. I did warn her it is horns and overtaking all the way... !!! I think she must have run out of "oohs and aarghs" by now..

Mohini = beautiful woman in this case girl but I am sure she will grow up to be that ...
