Where did the snow go?

... Apart from one or two remaining icy footprints in the garden, there is no sign that we ever had snow.

Today a pair of long-tailed tits were flitting about, but I had plodded into the garden just as the rain began, so although I saw them I didn't manage a shot. (I'm probably way too precious about pointing the camera upwards and getting it wet).

Yesterday an unusual thing happened. My routine has become one of popping down the garden with a few crumbs for the birds. I have two 'stopping places', the first one (as above) under some trees, where the robin usually stops to speak. The second is towards the end of the garden, where sometimes, but not always, a hen blackbird comes quite close.
Yesterday I was sitting in the kitchen, having not yet done my Crumb Thing, when a pair of blackbirds arrived on the fence outside the kitchen window. Both sat and 'chicked' at me. I felt delightfully 'found'! I can only assume they were encouraging me to hurry up.
Which, of course, I did. :-)
