The Art Deco Masonic Hotel Napier
Flattened by a magnitude 7.8 earthquake in 1931 Napier was rebuilt within 2 years in the style of the time which was Art Deco. It took until the 80's until people appreciated it but now it brings people to Napier. That and the fantastic weather (23 degrees and no clouds today) and the Hawkes Bay wine. There is a place here where you can taste some local wines but before you do you go into a room where they have 52 different aromas each in with their own glass bottle/dropper that you smell so you can better appreciate the wine when you get to taste it. There is also a test (surprisingly I scored better than Mrs H). Thought that was something Adam might appreciate (along with the wine of course).
