This is the A7. Sometimes known as the carretera, and once it was the most dangerous road in Europe.

It may have dropped a couple of places in the table nowadays, but it's still a bit hairy, particularly at night.

The speed limits are more like challenges and joining the main drag from a slip road sometimes seems like suicide.

But you get used to it and it is the main artery along the coast for hundreds of kilometres. There is a new toll road. That tends to be very quiet. You can work out why for yourselves!
