Started badly

I have now got the full on version of LooseCanon’s cough and cold with hacking cough, achy muscles thick head etc , and had a raised temperature in the night. Really couldn’t get up this morning so stayed in bed sleeping on and off.
I was a bit better by lunchtime so we took the train up to the Jungfrau , at 3454 metres with a heavy cold I was definitely wobbly, although usually I’m not too bad with high altitude.
The word awesome is overused but it really was awesome. The views were stunning and at minus 3 but sunny with no wind it was reasonably tolerable wandering around outside taking photos.
The train is ridiculously expensive, but you’ve got to do it really, and there are good displays of ice sculpture and a few other things to see. There’s a scientific observatory up there too.
This is a view of the snow covered glacier as seen from the top, and the extra is the mountains from the train back to Wengen as the sunset was catching the tops.
This really is a beautiful area.
We’ve just had a lovely meal out with our friends, so the day which started badly has ended a lot better than I thought it might.
