The Great Brownie Bake off

Backblip,
A busy day as I had lots to do for Brownies. Printing and writing out their certificates for today, shopping in Dingwall for all the ingredients for a stir fry . Contacting parents, sending emails etc, etc .
So the day whizzed by and it was soon time to leave to set up for the sessions. Nice to still be light when I go down now.
I was abit worried that we would not get many cakes etc as a few were away I’ll, I need not have worried aswe had plenty. We had two guest judges for the first Unit and they were brilliant, really taking it seriously like a proper Bake Off, tasting each piece of baking. The star baker was the Brownie who made the owl cake, and it tasted delicious.
There were just as many cakes from the second unit , all very impressive and we , the leaders, were the judges this time, so hard havin to taste so much baking ;) We could not decide so gave a joint award .
We sold the cakes afterwards and made £63 for charity. Our original idea was to donate the money to a Mum from Beauly who needed/ needs life saving cancer treatment in America but there was some good news last week as NHS Scotland have been able to fund treatment for her in LondonSo we have decided o donate some of the money to The Highland Hospice where we will be Flower donors for a month , the money paying for flower arrangements created by volunteers, which I’m sure will bring lots of smiles to the patients, their families and the staff , the rest will go to Maggie’s , a centre that caters for anyone affected by cancer.
The rest of the session was spent making the stir fry so lots of vegetable chopping and creating a Chinese dragon who danced :)
