Light / Shade

This lampshade sits on top of a floor standing lamp (standard lamp as they used to be called) that I bought for my parents when they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary back in the mid 70s. My dad died in 1977 and then after my mum died in the late 80s the lamp came to live with me and Roland and it's travelled with us ever since to bring light into our various homes.

Occasionally I feel bad that I can't remember the exact years but mostly I remind myself that details like that don't really matter. It's what they taught me and how I remember them that is important.
