The Shard
or vertical city, currently London's tallest building at 309.7 metres (1016 feet) and also the tallest in the European Union.
Grandson and I fancied a trip to the top and made the journey to London, accompanied by Mrs L who spent her day at the Anglo-Saxon exhibition at the British Library.
The extras show various well-known places: St Paul's Cathedral, the London Eye, and Tower Bridge with City Hall in the foreground.
Photography from the top involves shooting through the glass windows which reflect items in the interior seen by the camera which is angled downwards for these shots and the upper part of the lens touching the window, through the lower part of the lens. The trick is to put your dark-sleeved arm below the lens and next to the window to stop the reflection and make for a cleaner image.
