The last part of the last day

What a last day! We were expecting a dull, overcast day. What we got was another brilliant sunny day for our last snowshoeing trip.

Back in to the Pralongia plateau via the Sorrgs lift at San Cassiano where we made our way to the Pralongia refugio and onwards to the cross marking the highest part of the plateau.

It was all downhill from there with the Fanes Massif forming an ever present backdrop; a wonderful 4 mile walk off the plateau into the trees and down to the valley at Armentarola to pick up the bus back to the chalet.

Some people scooted down this final section; we took our time, absorbing and soaking up the the magnificence of the Dolomites for the last time in this trip. It was magical and will remain with us for many a long day.

Packed and ready to go. Another works tomorrow, we’ve 24 hours in Venice before our flight home on Monday. Met some exceptionally lovely people whom we hope to see again in the future.
