Under the gate

Today seemed not to give the weekend a chance before being upon me and me finding myself back at work. I was however fairly content to be at work today, for no particular reason. Fiona and I made it in early without any traffic bother.

Last year we bought a real Christmas tree. It survived being indoors and has thrived in the back garden. The plan was to bring it back in and have it again this year. We're all fairly used to seeing the odd spider scuttling about but the prospect of slugs and centipedes and who knows what else slithering out onto the carpet caused us to rethink. My Dad stayed with us one year over Christmas and bought us a nice artificial tree. We put that Christmas tree up this evening after tea. It did cross my mind to photograph the tree because it looks lovely, however I resisted and here's a photo of the gap between the bottom of the back gate and the ground.
