The importance of being earnest

Strider takes things seriously, particularly when presented with an intellectual challenge.

After this we sat down to simple supper together and had a really nice hour listening to music and chatting. For me the table, whether it’s home to breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea, dinner or midnight feasts is, the most magical place in the home.

Had unexpected calls from Big Sis and Big Bro at either end of the day. Lovely to catch up. We have nearly two hundred years of family life between us. Think of it like that and it’s pleasantly thought provoking.

In between times we went to two exhibitions at our local gallery - a Cyril Mann retrospective and a curated collection of female photographers from the Victorian era to the present day (see extras). Really good, particularly the latter. We are finally beginning to push back at history as it was written by men and are recognising and acknowledging the contributions of women in all fields of life.
