Bright lights and shimmering water

The stormy weather has moved on, thankfully, though it's still pretty cool. My walk on the beach this morning was cut short by a freak wave that crashed up on the beach and soaked me pretty much up to my waist. But the sun came out later on and we were able to go for another beach walk. A lucky afternoon for me ... Jan is doing some decluttering and passed on a whole bunch of clothes to me. They all fit perfectly and are right up my alley in terms of style. She came over with the clothes and we chatted for a long time. We love the way people drop by each others' homes here in Alohaland, none of that European formality where you have to make an appointment and call beforehand.

And we had a lovely evening at the Yacht Club with Angelo, Don with his wry Aussie humour, Cindy and Rebecca. It's such a delightful place, not at all snotty as the name "yacht club" might sound. I love the wooden pier-like floor and the outdoor seating looking out over the water. When it gets dark torch lights shine against the night sky and the water shimmers from the lights of the Honolulu skyscrapers. It's quite magical! Even more so because Roberto, the pizza chef, makes a great pizza!
