And some interesting thoughts re yesterday's pillar stone - most people overwhelmingly in favour of it remaining where it is. I agree for its setting is so part of it. Some sort of protection could be useful but it's hard to see what would be unobtrusive. At least there are now railings around the site so the cattle can't use it as a scratching post
